Food Business Marketing Podcast

After attending Natural Products Expo West, Cove Suncare’s founder, Danvi Gill, was invited to interview on The Food Business Marketing Podcast alongside two other female founders to discuss their emerging businesses. Danvi explained her story with eczema, struggling to find a sunscreen that truly worked for her skin, becoming a parent, and how it has since shaped her experience in growing her brand. As parents themselves, hosts Katie Mleziva and Clint Matthews resonated with Danvi’s mission to create a sunscreen that was also safe for her children. Danvi shared her background as a purchaser at a natural cosmetic manufacturer and how watching trends in brands, price points, and what ingredients are going into our skincare impacted the way she wanted to build her brand.

Danvi was also invited to interview with Rachel Kline of Authority Magazine in a part of her series, “My Life as a TwentySomething Founder.” Danvi explained that one of her biggest takeaways through experience has been being driven by purpose. Her job isn’t always glamorous, but she finds passion in creating a brand that can truly help others in a way that she felt she personally didn’t have access to in the past. 


After having her twin daughters, Danvi’s mission grew stronger to have a safe sunscreen that works for someone with sensitive skin. She feels lucky to have her family by her side and supporting her every step of the way. She specifically mentions her husband and her sister, who have played large roles as she builds a fast-growing company. She explains her husband as her “grounding force,” as he helps with logistics and provides help behind the scenes. Her sister has also been an instrumental part of the growth of Cove’s brand, handling social media and creative strategies to shape “how Cove Suncare shows up in the world.”
